Celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation in 1517, and the European Capital of Culture of Aarhus 2017. Three Danish museums have created a three-tier exhibition about Imagestorm* from past to present.

The exhibition draws threads from 1517 to the debate on freedom of expression and the image ban that is taking place today and focuses on how and why certain images have been broken, banned or tabooed. The three museums focus on each of their themes: sex, blasphemy and affection.
*Imagestorm is a term that refers to the destruction of religious images and art, around the time of the reformation.

This project I did as a intern at HELE VEJEN
